5 Thoughts on Fifty Shades Freed

So, the final episode of the Fifty Shades trilogy has been released, with a brand new soundtrack and, no doubt, a new line of sex toys to come. But, if you’re planning to head out to this new sexy flic this valentines day, expect something a little different from the first two instalments of this steamy saga.

1. It’s not all about the BDSM this time.

Don’t worry, there's still plenty of shots of Jamie Dorner’s booty, and Dakota Johnson’s womanly assets. And you can still expect a few steamy scenes, taking place in the infamous red room, along with plenty of new locations as well. You can also expect a saucy scene with a new implement, which is both erotic and slightly uncomfortable. But, it is not all handcuffs and ropes this time. Apart from Christian Grey actually listening to a safe word, and some mentions of tops and bottoms, there is far less whips and chains than we have learnt to expect from these movies.

2. Anna has come into her own this time, truly.

It has seemed that with the first and second movies, Anna was trying to find herself, but never quite got there. However, it is in this movie that we finally see her get to have her own decisions, her own life. Christian still has some seriously abusive tendencies, but we see Anna go against those in this latest edition, to keep her career and friends. And for the first time, Christian actually respects her for that. They still have a long way to go, but it is a start.

3. They have seriously upped their fashion game.

This is the first movie where I have seriously envied Anna’s wardrobe. I have always admired Christian’s wardrobe. But this time, Anna has upped her game. From her power suits, to her cute pjs or her killer heals, I seriously wish I could raid Anna’s wardrobe.

4. The music is still seriously good.

The music from the first and second movies is so good I had a slight obsession with it, it was all I would listen to. And it seems that the music from the third movie is just as infectious. I am definitely going to have to download the soundtrack and give it a listen.

5. The perfect way to round things off.

I had my doubts about this movie, but it really was the best way to finish off the franchise. We had closure on all counts and I think it will leave the majority of the audience satisfied, however, some feeling a little sick with its sweetness.

Although I don't think the relationship portrayed in these movies is healthy, they are easy to watch, and so long as one does not aspire to be like the characters, I see no harm in them. It feels slightly strange, like an empire coming to an end, and all that I can wonder is what next big thing will come along to replace fifty shades.

Have you seen Fifty Shades Freed? What did you think of it? Or are you planning on seeing it this valentines day? Let me know!

Until next time,
Stay Peachy,
