My Goals for 2018

The year is over, and I, like many, will be glad to see the back of 2017. In my last post, I discussed the lessons that this year has taught me. But now, I want to let go of 2017 and focus on its successor. So these are my goals for 2018. And don’t worry, I’m not cutting out chocolate.

1. Be kind.
I know, yawn. But, at the end of this year, I had an epiphany. The things that were getting me down in life were often things that I couldn’t help, and the only way I felt a little control in my life was to be kind to others. As I said in my last post, I have struggled with getting angry in 2017. But, in 2018, I am going to try and put nothing but kindness into the universe. Not only to other people, but towards myself as well. Because kindness is free and I doubt if I will ever truly regret being kind.

2. Work harder.
As many of you know, I am a Journalism student. Also, along with this blog, I co-host a podcast, which you can find here, I have a YouTube channel, I am an author and I do all of my uni work. But, working is what I love. Creativity is my life and I have congratulated myself for all of the work I have done in 2017. And my goal for 2018 is to work even harder, to finish my fourth book, to keep going with the podcast and keep growing my YouTube channel!

3. Go to more movies.
This one might seem a little strange, but I am a massive movie lover. But, this year, I made so many excuses to not go to the cinema. This is ridiculous, as my closest cinema is only a bus journey away and I can take a friend for free on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. So, this year, I say no more excuses. I am going to see at least 2 new movies a month, at the cinema and make sure that I watch as many new movies as possible on my netflix and my DVDs.

4. Keep it veggie.
In a recent post, I described how I have gone vegetarian this year. It has been one of the most amazing decisions of my life. This year, I want to learn how to cook more veggie dishes, go out for more veggie meals and enjoy the veggie life even more.

5. Keep going as you are!
Despite being a hard year, 2017 has been a massive year of personal growth for me. I have gone veggie, I have made the decision to give up casual sex and dating apps and I have learnt that I deserve more than I have been given in the past and that not everyone will like me, and that is okay. So, in 2018, I want to continue this journey of self love and self improvement, changing the things I can, and accepting the things I cannot. I have taken so many risks in 2017, and thrown off the shackles of embarrassment and I am so much happier for it. So, my final goal is to keep going as I am, cause for what life has thrown at me this year, I have done pretty well, I think.

Those are all of my goals for the next 12 months. No gym memberships, no cutting out chocolate, just more self love, more kindness and a movie every now and then.

Tell me what your goals are for this year! And let me know what you think of mine.

Until next time, have a happy new year and
Stay Peachy
